ARTOMATIC 25th Anniversary

I have my work on the fifth floor, room 5027, 2100 M Street NW, Washington DC.

MEET THE ARTISTS DAY all day. The Creatrix will be greeting visitors in Room 5027 from 6:00–8:00pm on Saturday, March 23.

The event starts Friday, March 8th at 12 pm, and runs to Sunday, April 28th.

On Sunday, April 28, you will find the Female Power Project in the Marketplace on the 3rd floor where I will be selling shirts and buttons. No space to sell other things!

This year’s event features 1000+ artists and performers, hundreds of workshops and events, and 100,000+ visitors expected to experience nearly half a million square feet of art — on 8 floors, over 7 weeks, 5 days a week.

By artists, for everyone. There’s truly something for everyone to see.

Full event days and hours are:

  • WED-THURS | 5:00 PM-9:30 PM

The 2024 Calendar is available for sale online and in my situations.

perSISTERS 2024 Calendar, Remembering and Surviving, 13-months of women heroes with notable dates from feminist women’s history

Available for sale online at this link.

It’s a book to hang on a wall. Colorful, inclusive, striving for social justice, these 14 transformational women (including on the cover) have entered our imaginations or changed the world, in ways we often have forgotten (if we ever knew to begin with). This 13 month calendar (January 2024–January 2025) reminds us of what we’ve been through, with messages to fire our imaginations for the future. The included 8 x 10 inch designs are from the perSISTERS series of digital original prints in the Female Power Project, artworks by word and digital artist, Leda Black. Every person pictured is described, with design notes and links for more information. In the dates portion of the calendar notable episodes from women’s history are featured. You will find the usual things (American women get to vote! (technically)), but also things like the date on which women shut down the whole country of Iceland when they went out on strike for equal pay. And the first time a woman spoke in the English House of Commons (she shouted “Votes for Women!”). When the year is done you can cut out the designs you like the best and hang them on the wall.

12 x 12 inches, 28 pages including the cover, high quality full color printing.

These are the women featured this year: Greta Thunberg, Hillary Clinton, Shirley Chisholm, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Forugh Farrokhzad, Patsy Mink, Jane Addams, Maxine Waters, Elizabeth Warren, Nancy Pelosi, Ella Baker, Alicia Garza & Patrisse Cullors & Ayọ Tometi (the women who launched #BlackLivesMatter), Sophie Scholl, and Hansa Mehta.
